Jeff Cruikshank is a writer and consultant based in the Boston area. He has worked with institutions and individuals on a broad range of idea-intensive projects.

We started as Kohn Cruikshank in Boston in 1989. In 2001, we moved to Milton and became The Cruikshank Company.

Our products range from internal position papers to highly visible documents: brochures, books, fundraising literature, and much more. They also include video, web sites, and other digitally-based products.

Most of our clients have strong internal resources to start with. We complement those resources.

For example: When a non-profit embarks on a fundraising campaign, that's a huge job above and beyond the work that the development team is already engaged in.

For example: When a professional-services firm needs a position paper, article, or book based on their expertise in a particular practice area, their communications staff may want extra hands on the job.

For example: When a software start-up needs to present its first face to the world—for example, its first web site—the bright people who created the place may be too close to the story to tell it well.

These are the kinds of challenges we take on. Again, we often work closely with smart insiders. They help us succeed, and we help them succeed.
