We began working for Harvard Law School (HLS) back in the early 1990s, when the School was about to launch a major capital campaign. We spent several weeks reviewing historical materials, reading the strategic plan and related materials, and interviewing faculty, students, and administrators.
Based on that work—and on continuing research in subsequent months—we generated a campaign case statement and a series of newsletters that were produced over the four-year life of the campaign. We wrote speeches that were delivered at both the main kick-off, and also regional kick-off events. We also worked with a local production house to create a sound-and-light show that was subsequently repurposed as a video and shown at fundraising events around the world.
We repeated this cycle during the School's most recent capital campaign, launched in 2002. We helped HLS administrators assemble a team of highly skilled outside consultants to complement staff expertise. We wrote the case statement and mini-cases focused on specific campaign goals. Working with event planners, videographers, and graphic designers, we helped put together the kick-off event, including drafts of speeches for most of the presenters.
Subsequently, we produced a series of campaign newsletters, videos, a planned giving brochure, direct-mail solicitations and e-mails for annual fund mailings, and donor-recognition pieces.
Our successful work with the HLS development group has led to other work at the School. For example, we helped the admissions office produce several videos aimed at prospective students. We also generated architecture and copy for two HLS websites.
We're proud to have done high-quality work for a world-class institution for almost two decades.
