Authors

Sometimes we work with individuals to help them get their books published.

This process typically starts with a book-proposal phase, in which we help our clients shape their ideas in ways that will appeal to publishers. In many cases, we work collaboratively with literary agents to develop the book proposal, outline, and sample chapter(s).

If the book proposal is accepted, we often continue on with the author, helping to deliver the book specified in the proposal. After the manuscript is completed, we help the author navigate the intermediate and final stages of book production.

We recently worked with a physician who had written her first novel, and wanted help getting it into a publishable shape. This was a very different kind of challenge, which we enjoyed. Personal chemistry is important, here!

Completing a book is usually a long, complicated, and expensive process—in terms of time, money, or emotions—so we work with our authors to stay on schedule and stay within budget.
